We successfully captured drone footage of the Shiga, which creates a fantastical effect on the Kuji River in winter.

  • Post category:notice

A miraculous moment that can only be seen a few times a year.

This is a two-hour view that only appears when six conditions are met.
① Temperature difference ② Sunny weather ③ No wind ④ Humidity ⑤ Early morning ⑥ Calm flow.
And the seventh is "luck"...
In the morning when everything comes together, the river is bathed in light.

The moment the morning sun touches the mist, the world is transformed into gold.
When the sun rises, it disappears.

That's why it's beautiful. That's why it's unforgettable.

Someday, with your own eyes.
A miraculous moment for you.

What is Shiga?

Shiga (ice flowers) is a phenomenon that occurs when frozen ice rises to the surface of the riverbed and flows like slush on cold winter mornings when temperatures drop below -5°C. This winter spectacle, which can be seen mainly on the Kuji River that flows through Fukushima and Ibaraki prefectures from January to February, is famous for its mystical appearance as it glitters in the morning sun.
