Higashizaki Lighthouse We received special permission to take drone photographs.

Agarizaki is a cliff-like cape that rises about 100m above sea level.
At the tip stands Higashizaki Lighthouse, which has an observation deck.
On a clear day, you can even see Iriomote Island to the east.
The area around the cape, with its magnificent scenery, is a gently sloping pastureland where Yonaguni horses and cows graze, creating a tranquil landscape.

Characteristics of the Yonaguni horse
・Small They are only around 110-120cm tall and weigh around 200kg. Thoroughbreds used in horse racing are 160-170cm tall and weigh around 500kg, so they are very small in comparison.
-Strong legs and hooves
When they used to be important workers for farming families, they used to carry loads of over 100kg. Their hooves are hard, so they can walk on rough mountain paths without any problems. They don't need horseshoes.
・The coat color is bay only. There are no white patterns.
Bay hair is a breed whose entire body is mostly brown, with the mane, tail, and legs being dark brown (or black). There are many different shades of brown, such as reddish brown, blackish brown, and yellowish brown. If you look closely, you will be able to see the differences in the coat color of each horse.
・There is a line on the back
The eel line is a dark-colored line that runs along the spine from the mane to the tail. It is said that it does not appear in improved breeds, but appears in horses that are closer to the original breed. Some horses have a clearly visible dark eel line, while others have a line that is only visible if you look closely.
・Her personality is honest and gentle
Of course, the ease of handling varies greatly depending on the condition of training and the individual horse, but they have very good qualities. With the right care and training, they can become truly obedient and gentle horses, worthy of being human companions.
